Now, there's a statement that's surely music to every parent's ears!? Music Musings is a unique movement and music program for children 2-8 years.? Founded and directed by new Milford resident, Marijo Hunihan, the programs have entertained and educated children in classrooms, at libraries, parks, parties and nonprofit venues for over 10 years throughout Fairfield and New Haven Counties. Lessons are now available in her new, home music studio located at #15 Alfred Road.
"Teachers tell me that what makes the programs successful with children, is the interactive way that music, movement, instrument and puppet play are combined with visual art to inspire active, hands-on?learning that's fun! Research shows that music is the only activity that supports all areas of a child's growth and development. I lead with guitar and voice in each lesson and create a fun music story or theme for children as we sing, dance,move to interactive lyrics and use dramatic arts to bring the music stories to life.? The goal is to provide a nurturing, safe and creative learning arena for children's self expression.? The programs are play based and child centered with the children's ideas integral to every class", says Marijo.
"I'm hoping to meet local families who are seeking new, affordable, enrichment activities for their children and to connect again with children that I had so much fun singing with this past spring at the Orange Elementary and Woodruff Family YMCA Preschools."
